Update on status of TR Program at EWU

Good afternoon WSTRA members,

I wanted to provide an update to the Therapeutic Recreation program review process at Eastern Washington University and the current WSTRA board has graciously allowed me to use the website and Facebook page for this purpose.

The good news is that the faculty led Program Review Committee did recommend for the TR program to continue, the bad news is that the process is far from over.

The recommendation from the Program Review Committee now goes to the Undergraduate Affairs Council, then Rules, then Faculty senate, then the university president, then the Board of Trustees.

So, while we are pleased with the initial recommendations, we won’t have an official answer until June. Regardless of the ultimate verdict, all currently declared students will be permitted to finish their courses.
