| The Tavon Center is a thriving nonprofit that serves as a day program for adults with intellectuals and developmental disabilities. The Tavon Center is piloting a new program called The Tavon Specialty Center that focuses on helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn, retain and apply new skills. The Specialist Center will be comprised of a 10-week Specialty Course in which Course Topics will then be broken down into 10 weekly lessons.
The Tavon Specialty Center will concentrate on courses such as Life Skills, Health and Wellness and Employment. These courses will incorporate fine and gross motor skills, intrapersonal skills and social skills while also placing our members in real life situations to enhance and implement their new skills. Our team is looking for a Specialty Assistant to help grow and execute this program. This is a part time position where you will work Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:50am-2:50pm. This program will start on Monday January 2nd, 2017 and will continue through the whole calendar year allowing us five Specialty Courses in 2017. The position would pay $14 p/hour with the option to pick up more hours if wanted at our main site.
