Call for Presenters

Pacific Northwest Therapeutic Recreation Association

Annual Conference

April 11th and 12th, 2019

Greetings! The Board of Directors for the Pacific Northwest Chapter Affiliate of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association invites submissions to present at our upcoming Annual Conference on April 11th and 12th, 2019 at the Monarch Hotel and Conference Center in Portland, Oregon. This conference provides annual continuing education and networking opportunities for professionals and students in Oregon, Southwest Washington, and surrounding states.

Conference Theme: “Partnership, Inclusion, Innovation”

Presentation Topic Suggestions:  Creative presentations that speak to the benefits and application of recreation therapy and adaptive recreation/sports for therapists and providers are invited. This year we want to offer content that presents the treatment we provide in collaboration with other disciplines or community partners, how inclusive recreation therapy programs are utilized, or explores new or upcoming recreation therapy programming.   Suggested themes for development include: partnering with community resources, co-programming with other disciplines, innovative programs, professional or leadership development, skill-building for clients, evidence based practice, and legislature-related topics.

Proposal Requirement: Submit PNWTRA Presenter Application (click Call+for+Presenters+Final.2019Conference)

Presentation Submission Deadline:  December 21st, 2018

Special Considerations:  Presenters will be awarded $150 per hour (divided amongst all presenters) as a post-presentation stipend, and receive free registration and lunch the day they present. If a presenter wishes to present on multiple topics, it will be up to the planning committee’s discretion to determine on which day each presentation works best.
