Sofia Foster, CTRS/R

Sofia is a graduate of Western Washington University where she received her BS in Therapeutic Recreation. While in school, she completed an internship at The Children’s Hospital in Richmond, VA working on an acute long term care unit for adolescents and eating disorders program. Post graduation she went to work at Seattle Children’s Home (SCH) now integrated with Navos, where she gained TR experience working with youth on a locked unit. While working at SCH Sofia had the opportunity to also work at Bailey Boushay House (BBH) which serves people in the community at the end of life. It is also a hospice/skilled nursing unit and Outpatient program for people living with HIV/Aids. During her time there she grew the program to include 3 TRs and integrated Recreation Therapy modalities into BBH’s Housing program. Follow her time at BBH, Sofia is currently pursuing her lifelong goal of helping as many people as possible by working part time at UWMC on the inpatient rehab unit and per diem for Harborview, Providence and Snoqualmie Hospitals. In her spare time Sofia enjoys line dancing, seeing live music, traveling, spending time with her five nieces and nephews, watching sports and checking out the best food in the city. Sofia is new to the board and eager to grow the WSTRA chapter and support TRs.
